This month, we marked an incredible milestone at First Solar with more than 10,000 megawatts (MW), or 10 gigawatts (GW), of photovoltaic (PV) solar capacity manufactured and installed worldwide. This achievement makes First Solar a global leader in generating clean, affordable solar energy.
How much power is 10GW? This infographic helps put this milestone in perspective. First Solar’s 10GW of clean, affordable power is equivalent to:
This achievement is a testament to our diverse business strategy. From module manufacturing, to plant design and construction, to system monitoring and maintenance, First Solar is instrumental in helping companies as well as local, state and national governments to meet their green energy goals. It is also a clear signal of what is to come for the future of solar, and renewable energy, showing that solar energy use continues to grow.
At First Solar, we are leading the way in the development of photovoltaic (PV) energy solutions. From engineering the planet’s largest grid-connected PV power plants to bringing cost competitive energy to remote regions and communities, First Solar continues to change the way the world views and utilizes sustainable energy.
